ITALY - Part Two, When in Rome

Rome was awesome, I can't wait to go back one day. Luckily Wendy and I were welcomed to Rome by this freaky old guy making kissy noises at us, urggghhhh. We found our hostel easily it was quite a nice place really quiet and close to the train station, and supermarket.

Once we got our room and settled in we decided to go for an afternoon walk just to see a few of the near by sights. We took our map and wandered around for a bit and found our selves almost at the coliseum. The best thing we found about Rome was that you could see so many things it wouldn't cost you a thing.

We headed out and went through Piazza della Republica and went into this amazing old church, there is an awesome fountain on the Piazza. We wandered down via Nazionale and missed a military parade by minutes, we continued walking and went down some steps that opened out into a large Piazza with a massive white stone building in the center and along one side were some ruins of ancient Rome and we realised that we had almost walked all the way to the coliseum.

I think that from there we went to check out the Trevi fountain, which was gorgeous but there was sooo many people there you had to fight to get a decent look at the fountain.

We then headed back to our hostel and as we went through Piazza della Republica we saw this amazing display of birds flying around in flocks before nesting for the night. It had been a long day but we headed back to bed.
